学生 are individuals, not simply members of a class. That’s why Paraclete teachers and staff connect with each student on a personal level—and since we’re significantly smaller than the public schools in the area, those connections play a significant role in helping every student find success.

From mastering grammar and vocabulary to developing a critical attitude toward literature, students receive well-rounded instruction in English and language arts. Each student is required to take at least one year of visual or performing arts in order to graduate. With the wide variety of creative classes to choose from, there is truly something that will appeal to everyone. Courses can be musical and performance-focused; hands-on such as studio art or photography; or concepts such as art history or film. Some courses require auditions before approval is granted.

Each student is required to take at least one year of 物理 education in order to graduate. 在圣灵, we provide a Physical Education/Health class for Freshmen that provides a healthy, 物理, co-educational experience in a Christian environment of good sportsmanship and good citizenship. All students are required to complete two years of the same language other than English. 在圣灵, students are offered language courses from basic to advanced in both Spanish and French. Also offered is an immersive Spanish Language and Culture class that emphasizes communication.

For those students interested in a 计算机科学 Pathway, Paraclete offers courses at each level. Starting with CS1, students learn basic programming skills with RobotC, JavaScript, Xcode and Swift. From there, they may learn Python and Java in two year long courses. Finally, AP 计算机科学 Principles may be completed for college credit. 学生 are introduced to real-world applications to prepare them for 计算机科学 in college. 学生 are assigned personal devices throughout their high school career at Paraclete.

We’re here to challenge you—but you should never feel like you’re going it alone! Counselors are constantly monitoring students’ grades, and can coordinate tutoring if they identify that a student may be slipping. Paired with the support of Math and English teachers available for tutoring after school, and every student can find a plan that inspires them to succeed.
